Happy Talk like a Pirate Day!!

Avast belay, yo ho, heave to,
A-pirating we go
And if we're parted by a shot
We're sure to meet below!

(and to the Bay I shall go! ;)

Hah! Beat yer to it, matey. Me cabin boy gave me the news o'er an hour ago. He made haste to tell me that "argh" means hello, goodbye, and how are you, so it be like shalom for pirates. Aaaaaargh.

I’ve sailed the seven seas, and you’re the sleekest schooner I’ve ever sighted. Here's something for you and the cabin boy

Thanks, AR...sat rapt through 2 listenings! A quick search revealed it's been around a bit, but this was my introduction.

'A rake and a roustabout
Spending all your money
On the whores and hounds'

'...but oh what providence,
what divine intelligence,
that you should survive as well as me...'

Has the poetic touch of Hunter-esque storytelling!

You'd have thought in a state with so much love for country, bluegrass, and gospel there'd be at least a modest contingency...then again, I s'pose anything remotely "hippie" in connotation has been anathema since time immemorial around here...

Be careful how you choose to celebrate "Talk Like A Pirate Day"

This is how the U. S. Navy celebrates Pirate Day.......

And Easter Sunday, apparently. Hubby, being swarthy of skin, once dressed as a Somali pirate for a friend's Pirate Party. Fortunately for him he didn't run into any of your friends -- or, well, aaaaaargh!
